Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
3 Tbsp. buttermilk
3 to 4 c. plain flour
Preparation

Work in enough plain flour to make a stiff dough.
Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Dissolve soda in milk.
Add alternating with flour.
Chill until dough is stiff.
Roll out and cut.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
This is an old-fashioned tea cake. Over 100 years old.
