Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/4 c. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Sift first four ingredients together in mixing bowl.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add the sugar one spoonful at a time until blended.
Set aside.
Beat egg yolks until light.
Add lemon juice, rind, melted butter and milk.
Stir egg yolks and juice mixture into flour mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Fold in the egg whites.
Pour into a buttered 2-quart baking dish.
Set in a pan of hot water 1/2-inch deep.
Bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Chill before serving.
Makes 6 servings.
