Banana Tea Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2 to 3 bananas)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional) or 1 c. chopped dates (optional)
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside.
Work shortening with a spoon until fluffy and creamy, then add sugar gradually while continuing to work with a spoon until light.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add flour mixture alternately with the bananas, a small amount at a time, beating smooth after each addition.
Turn into a greased or oiled loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done (toothpick test).
