Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. soda
    5 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. Swans Down cake flour
    1 tsp. lemon flavoring (optional)
    1 Tbsp. water
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Add sugar; cream until fluffy.
    Dissolve soda in the water and pour into creamed mixture along with the salt.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
    Gradually stir in buttermilk and cake flour.
    Add flavoring last.
    Pour batter into greased and floured 12 cup tube pan and bake about 1 1/2 hours at 275\u00b0.
    Do not open oven door while cake is baking.
