Rich Pastry(Yields One 9-Inch Pie) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
4 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation

Combine flour and salt in a large bowl; cut in shortening and butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle with water, 1 tablespoon at a time; mix lightly with a fork just until pastry holds together and leaves side of bowl clean.
Roll out to a 12-inch round on a lightly floured pastry cloth or board; fit into a 9-inch pie plate.
Trim overhang to 1/2-inch; turn under and flush with rim.
Flute to make a stand-up edge.
Chill while making filling.
