Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
6 medium apples, pared and cored
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients.
Cut in shortening until coarse crumbs.
Add milk, stir until flour is moist.
On lightly floured surface roll into 18 x 12-inch rectangle.
Place apples on dough. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Roll and cut as for cinnamon rolls.
Place one inch apart on ungreased baking pan. Pour syrup over dumplings.
Bake at 375 for one hour or until apples are done.
Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
