Italian American Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground meat (I use ground round)
1 large onion, chopped
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 1/2 c. uncooked macaroni
1 jalapeno pepper (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
8 to 10 slices American cheese
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 (No. 303) can tomatoes, chopped
1 1/2 c. whole kernel corn, drained
1 Tbsp. parsley
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
Preparation

Brown meat, onion and green pepper in a large skillet.
Boil macaroni in a large pot.
To the ground meat, add tomato sauce, tomatoes, corn, parsley, oregano, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and jalapeno, if desired.
Let mixture simmer on low about 30 minutes, so that it is fairly thick.
Drain macaroni. Mix macaroni with the meat mixture.
Stir well.
Arrange cheese on top, so that it covers all the meat.
Cover and let cheese melt.
