Soda Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Preheat oven to very hot (450\u00b0).
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Add buttermilk and blend lightly.
Turn out on lightly floured board.
Knead gently about 30 seconds.
Roll or pat to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut with floured 2-inch cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in a very hot oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes about 14 (2-inch) biscuits.
