Chicken Chow Mein - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 onions, sliced
1 Tbsp. peanut oil
2 c. sliced celery
3/4 lb. sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 c. chicken broth
1 c. bean sprouts, drained
1 c. water chestnuts, sliced
1/2 c. bamboo shoots, sliced
3 c. cooked chicken, bite size
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. fried chow mein noodles
Preparation

Saute onions in oil for 10 minutes. Drain. Add celery, mushrooms and chicken broth. Cook 5 minutes over low heat.
Stir in bean sprouts, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and chicken.
Make a paste of soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir in. Continue cooking over very low heat until thickened.
Sprinkle with fried chow mein noodles or de-Shredded Wheat biscuit, 1/2 c. Rice Krispies or 1/2 c. crushed Life cereal.
Serves 6.
