Mini Sausage Calzones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1-lb. frozen bread dough, thawed
4-oz. sweet Italian sausage
1/4 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 c. Italian-style tomato sauce
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg
2 Tbsp. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a baking sheet. Divide dough into 8 portions. Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add sausage and cook until brown and crumbly. Drain fat, stir in onion, garlic, basil, oregano and tomato sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Roll each piece of dough into a 5-inch circle. Spoon sausage mixture onto each circle; sprinkle with cheese. Moisten edges of dough with water. Fold dough over to enclose filling. Press to seal using tines of fork. Place on baking sheet. Beat egg with milk and brush over calzones. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately. Makes 8 servings.
