Sweet Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 small/medium pickling cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
    5 tsp. pickling salt
    4 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Cover whole cucumbers with boiling water (earthenware crock preferable).
    Let soak overnight; drain.
    Repeat this procedure for three additional nights.
    On the fifth day, drain and slice in 1/2-inch pieces.
    Combine with next four ingredients; bring to a boil.
    Pour over cucumbers and let soak for 2 days.
    On the third day, bring to a boil and seal in sterile jars.
