Spanish Onion Soup - cooking recipe

14 oz. chicken broth
4 to 6 garlic cloves
olive oil
1/2 large yellow onion, sliced thin
1 Tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. red pepper
1/4 c. dry sherry
2 slices whole wheat or oat bread
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Heat crushed garlic in olive oil and toast both sides of bread and save.
Saute onion in olive oil until soft and almost translucent.
Save with bread.
Heat broth (in same pot) until hot.
Add paprika, pepper flakes and another crushed clove of garlic.
Add onion and bread mixture; stir.
Add sherry.
Slowly pour eggs into soup across top.
Cover pot.
Put in oven until egg browns (about 5 minutes).
