Baked Apples With Sausage Stuffing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large baking apples
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 bulk sausage
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. dried leaf sage
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. chopped walnuts
    1/4 c. orange juice
Preparation
    Core apples and pare each about 1/4 of the way down. Carefully scoop out center to make hollow shells; reserve scooped out pulp.
    In a large skillet cook onion in butter until tender. Add sausage and bacon.
    Add reserved apple pulp, brown sugar, sage, thyme, orange peel, salt, pepper and walnuts.
    Cover it up for 2 minutes.
    Spoon this mixture into apple shells.
