Scalloped Potatoes With Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes, pared
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 3/4 c. milk
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
Preparation
    Slice potatoes 1/4-inch thick.
    Place in heavy saucepan with the water and salt.
    Cover.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and cook 15 minutes.
    In heavy skillet, melt butter.
    Stir in flour. Gradually add milk.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Cook until sauce is thickened.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in cheese, salt and garlic powder.
    Fold sauce into potatoes.
    Turn into buttered 1 1/2-quart dish.
    Top with buttered bread crumbs.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until bubbly and top is slightly browned.
