Mama'S Glorious Golden Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    4 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. golden raisins
    1/2 c. chopped, candied pineapple
    1/2 c. each: chopped red and green candied cherries
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
    Pineapple Glaze (recipe follows)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. butter
    6 eggs
    1/4 c. milk
    pecan halves
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; reserve 1/4 cup. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
    Combine walnuts, raisins, pineapple, candied cherries, lemon rind and 1/4 cup flour.
    Stir into batter.
    Spread batter in greased and waxed paper-lined 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in 275\u00b0 oven 2 hours and 45 minutes or until done.
    Cool in pan 30 minutes.
    Remove from pan; cool on rack.
    Wrap fruitcake tightly in foil.
    Store in refrigerator up to 4 weeks.
    (Fruitcake keeps better if stored and unfrosted.)
