Caramel-Chocolate Squares(Serves 28 To 36 Squares) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz. bag caramels
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 (17 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of double boiler; set aside.
    Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Combine dry cake mix, margarine, nuts and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
    Stir by hand until dough holds together.
    Press 1/2 of dough in pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Pour on chocolate chips and caramel.
    Spread remaining dough over chocolate chips and caramel layer.
    Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool slightly; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
