Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. sorghum
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and sorghum. Add flour, soda and spices; mix thoroughly. Chill dough for a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and dip top in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet (flatten balls somewhat if you prefer a flatter cookie) and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
