Pat'S Butter Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry butter beans
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 bell pepper, chopped
    2 ribs celery, chopped
    1 pod garlic, chopped fine
    2 Tbsp. parsley
    2 lb. smoked picnic ham
    2 pieces ham hock
    1 Tbsp. red pepper
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    8 c. water
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight.
    Drain and rinse beans.
    Saute the onion, pepper, celery and garlic until brown.
    Add the ham seasoning, then add the beans, water, Worcestershire sauce, ham hocks, parsley and red pepper.
    Cook for 3 hours until it thickens.
    You can also cook red beans this way.
