Ingredients

1 c. soft butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. warm water
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Stir in vanilla and warm water.
Bake in lightly greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for approximately 45 minutes.
Cool.
Frost with fudge icing.
