Johnniecake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 1/2 c. white flour
    1/2 c. lard
    2 tsp. soda
    salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    enough milk to moisten
Preparation
    Do not use metal spoon or bowl.
    Do not refrigerate.
    On day 1, do nothing with starter.
    On days, 2, 3, 4 and 5, stir with wooden spoon.
    On day 6, add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk.
    On days, 7, 8 and 9, stir with wooden spoon.
    On day 10, add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk.
    Stir and pour into 3 (1-cup) containers.
    Keep one for yourself for future use and give the other 2 with a recipe to friends.
    You will have 1 cup left.
