Asparagus Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 lb. asparagus
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. heated milk
    1/4 c. heavy cream
    2 slices cooked ham, chopped
    4 to 6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan
    1 Tbsp. bread crumbs
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cook asparagus partially.
    Save 1 cup of asparagus water. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in pan.
    Stir in flour and cook a moment.
    Gradually add milk and reserved water to make a smooth sauce.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add cream, ham, salt and pepper.
    Pour over asparagus in a casserole dish.
    Mix cheese and bread crumbs and sprinkle over sauce.
    Dribble remaining butter over top of crumb mixture.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
