Great Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. potatoes, diced
    1 small onion, diced
    1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp, crumbled (reserve drippings)
    1/2 large can evaporated milk
    1/4 c. celery, diced small
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 stick butter
    2 tsp. flour
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in 2 quarts water until done, then scoop potatoes out of pot and mash with fork or mixer.
    Put back into water; add remaining ingredients, except evaporated milk and flour. Beat together with fork and add to potatoes.
    Cook on medium until thickened (about 45 minutes).
