Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. dry cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Cream the margarine, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Form mixture into balls the size of a large walnuts, \"concealing\" the walnuts and raisins inside each.
Roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press a piece of walnut on each, flattening slightly. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from tray and cool. Yields approximately 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
