Fall Harvest Spice Cake - cooking recipe

1 pkg. (18.25 oz.) spice or carrot cake mix
1 cup water
3 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup apple butter
Maple Buttercream Frosting (recipe follows)
2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1/4 cup chopped almonds
2 Tbsp. chopped dried apricots
2 Tbsp. chopped dried cranberries
2 Tbsp. raisins
