Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. beet or cane sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. grated raw apple, unpeeled and core removed
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. finely grated orange rind
3 Tbsp. milk
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender until fine.
Add eggs and blend well.
Mix together grated apple, orange rind and milk.
Add to mixture and stir to blend just until smooth.
Turn into well-greased pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inches.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
Cool completely before removing from pan.
Slices best 1 day old.
