Aunt Sara'S Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 5 cooking apples (according to size)
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 stick butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 eggs
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
Preparation
    Peel and slice apples
    and
    place
    in
    a
    heavy
    covered saucepan, adding only enough
    water
    to
    steam
    apples a tender crisp (2 tablespoons will
    be enough).
    Add lemon juice.
    Watch carefully, do not overcook.
    Add sugar to which salt and spices have been blended.
    Add margarine, stir lightly to blend.
    Beat eggs until foamy, add to
    apple
    mixture lightly and quickly to distribute
    eggs without uneven
    cooking
    of
    eggs.
    Pour
    into unbaked pie shell and bake at 325\u00b0 until well done, about 50 to 60 minutes.
    This pie has a partially caramelized topping which is very good.
    Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
