Tomato Ketchup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. cut up tomatoes
    2 onions
    1 Tbsp. salt
    22 drops cinnamon oil
    22 drops clove oil
    5 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Cook tomatoes and onions until soft; put through sieve.
    Press out the clear juice and save for juice or flavor for gravies, etc. Press and save the thick pulp for the ketchup.
    Add salt, oils and vinegar.
    Cook until thick.
    Add sugar, cornstarch and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper, if desired.
    Cook well and can.
    This has a bright red color and is more like commercial ketchup.
