Cinnamon Breakfast Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    4 or 5 cooking apples (1 1/2 lb.)
    2 Tbsp. water
    1/4 c. butter
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Pare apples and chop into bite-sized pieces.
    Put in a 4 cup measure sprinkling with cinnamon mixture, as you add apples.
    When you have 4 cups, put apples, water and butter into a saucepan.
    Cover and cook over low to medium heat, stirring once or twice, for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
    Yields 2 2/3 cups.
