1920'S Lindenberg Sweet Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium heads cabbage
    4 green peppers
    12 medium onions
    1/2 c. non iodized salt
    1 tsp. celery
    18 medium carrots
    4 red peppers
    3 pt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Run vegetables through a food chopper; add 1/2 cup salt.
    Let it stand for 2 hours, then drain.
    Mix with vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed.
    This requires no cooking and does not have to be sealed.
