Cherry Coke Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. can pitted dark sweet cherries
    20 oz. can crushed pineapple
    1 large pkg. cherry Jell-O
    12 oz. can Classic Coke (do not use diet)
    8 oz. carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Drain and reserve juice from cherries and pineapple.
    Add enough water to juice to make 2 cups liquid.
    Bring liquid to a boil, remove from heat and add Jell-O, stirring until dissolved. Cool slightly.
    Stir in Coke and fruit.
    Chill until firm.
    Top with a layer of Cool Whip before serving.
