Yum Yum Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 lemon
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 envelopes Knox gelatine
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 c. grated American cheese
    1/2 pt. whipping cream, whipped
Preparation
    Heat pineapple, add juice of one lemon and sugar.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved and remove from heat.
    Add gelatine which has been soaked in 1/2 cup cold water for one minute.
    Add to pineapple mixture and let cool.
    When it begins to congeal, add cheese and whipped cream.
    Mix well.
    Let congeal in refrigerator; 9-inch square pan makes good size container.
    Cut into 16 serving pieces, or larger for the larger appetites.
