Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    12 oz. Sathers raw peanuts
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup, water and salt in heavy kettle until mixture spins a thread. Add peanuts. Boil slowly until mixture is very yellow, almost brown and smells like roasting peanuts. Take off stove and add butter, vanilla and soda. Stir until butter melts. Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets. When cold, break into pieces. More soda makes a fluffy brittle.
