Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. hot coffee
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. chopped nut meats
Preparation

Cream shortening or margarine and sugar together; beat in egg until light.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add half of hot coffee to creamed mixture, then dry ingredients and finally remaining coffee; stir until well blended after each addition. Fold in raisins and nuts.
Spread batter in greased 9 x 14 x 1/2-inch jelly
roll pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. When cool, spread with frosting made by combining
1 tablespoon butter and 1 cup confectioners sugar with enough cold coffee to moisten.
Cut into 3/4 x 2-inch bars.
