Mrs. Sam Hissman'S Date Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pitted dates
    4 c. white sugar
    2 c. milk
    1/4 lb. butter
    pinch of salt
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. nutmeats, cut fine
Preparation
    Cook sugar, milk, butter and pinch of salt until it forms a hard ball.
    Add dates and cook until it still forms a hard ball. Remove from fire; beat until real creamy.
    Add coconut and nuts. Turn on a dampened cloth.
    Shape and cut in nice size pieces.
    Let dry.
