Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. seasoned flour
    1 onion (medium), minced
    1 tsp. chili powder
    8 oz. tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    4 1/2 oz. mushrooms, sliced
Preparation
    Steak should be 3/4 to 1-inch thick.
    Wash meat, trim.
    Fry fat for oil in a high dome electric skillet.
    Cut meat into serving pieces 2 x 4-inch.
    Prepare seasoned flour.
    Pound seasoned flour into meat with mallet.
    Dredge with seasoned flour, both sides. Fry meat.
    Add shortening or margarine if needed.
    Add 2 tablespoons seasoned flour to make a roux.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer covered 1 hour.
    Check for sauce thickness. Add water if needed.
    Check meat for tenderness.
    Simmer until meat is tender.
