Lemon Cheese Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    dash of salt
    3 beaten egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. lemon peel, finely shredded
    1/3 c. lemon juice
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan.
    Stir in 1 1/2 cups cold water.
    Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
    Stir 1 cup of hot mixture into 3 beaten egg yolks.
    Return mixture to saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in butter and lemon peel.
    Gradually stir in lemon juice.
    Mix well.
    Cool and spread on cake.
    Yields 3 layer cake.
