Dwayne'S Favorite Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans (8 1/2 oz. size) sliced pineapple
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    8 drained maraschino cherries
    1/4 c. pecan or walnut halves
    1 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    whipped cream for top
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Drain pineapple, saving 2 tablespoons of syrup.
    Melt butter in 10-inch skillet.
    Add brown sugar, stirring until sugar is melted.
    Remove from heat. Arrange drained pineapple on sugar mixture in skillet.
    Fill centers with cherries and spaces between with nuts.
    Set skillet aside.
