Rice Krispies Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. dates, cut up
    1/2 c. oleo
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. Rice Krispies
    coconut
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except cereal, nuts and coconut, in a heavy saucepan.
    Bring to slow boil, stirring constantly.
    Boil 2 minutes.
    Have cereal and nuts in large bowl.
    Pour hot mixture over cereal.
    Mix well.
    Cool for 30 minutes.
    Form into balls and roll in coconut.
