Jalapeno Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. bacon drippings
1 c. grated cheese
5 strips cooked bacon
1 can cream corn
1 large onion, chopped
2 buds finely chopped garlic
3 to 5 finely chopped jalapeno peppers
Preparation

Break bacon into small pieces.
Mix corn meal, soda and salt. Add milk, eggs and bacon drippings.
Mix well, then add creamed corn, grated cheese, bacon, onion, garlic and peppers.
Bake in hot, greased iron skillet at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour or until firm and brown.
