Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. jam
Preparation

Mix, leaving out jam.
If dough is hard to handle, chill about an hour. Divide dough into 12 equal parts.
Place on well-greased cookie sheets.
Shape into rectangles 8-inches long and 1-inch wide.
With wooded spoon, make a furrow down center of each piece of dough.
Spread jam in furrow.
Bake 10 minutes.
Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets.
Cut into slices. When cool, frost.
