Church Street Nut Bread - cooking recipe

2 c. flour, sifted
4 slight tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. milk
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar and egg.
Add milk and flour combined with baking powder and salt, alternately.
Add raisins and nuts. Bake for 45 minutes at 350\u00b0 in a loaf pan.
