Pretzel Surprise Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter, melted
    2 1/4 c. crushed pretzels
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    3 (8 oz.) boxes frozen strawberries, thawed
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin
    1 large carton whipped topping
Preparation
    Combine butter, pretzels and 1/4 cup sugar in a 9 x 13-inch pan, mixing and spreading over bottom.
    Blend cream cheese, whipped topping and 1 1/2 cups sugar in bowl.
    Spread over pretzel layer.
    Drain the strawberries and pineapple reserving juices. Combine reserved juices with enough boiling water to measure 2 cups.
    Dissolve gelatin in hot juice mixture in bowl.
    Stir in 2 cups ice and water.
    Chill until thickened.
    Fold in fruit. Spread over cream cheese layer.
    Garnish with pecans.
    Chill until firm.
