Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

In mixing bowl, mix flour and sugar; mix in butter until mealy.
Mix 1 cup of mixture with 3/4 cup coconut (reserve).
To the rest of the mixture add 3/4 cup coconut, salt, cinnamon and cloves.
Stir together the milk and soda; add this to the mixture. Add egg and mix well with spoon.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture on top.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 35 minutes.
