Pot Roast Indienne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. beef brisket or round steak
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 minced garlic clove
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 c. tomato puree
    1/4 c. parsley, chopped
    4 whole cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 bay leaf
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. orange juice
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Season meat with salt and lemon juice.
    Brown meat on all sides.
    Combine garlic, onion, cloves, parsley, cinnamon, bay leaf, puree and sugar.
    Add to beef.
    Add 1/2 cup water.
    Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and cover; simmer 10 minutes.
    Add orange juice.
    Cover and simmer about 3 hours or until tender.
    If necessary, add water to keep moist while cooking.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
