Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 sliced cucumbers
    8 sliced onions
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Mix salt, mustard seed, celery seed, turmeric, vinegar and sugar.
    Cook over low heat for a few minutes until dissolved.
    Let cool.
    Pack jars with cucumbers and onions; pour mixture over and tighten lids.
    Place in refrigerator and serve when desired.
