Navajo Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. lard
1 1/2 to 2 c. warm water
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Cut in lard.
Knead in enough water to make soft dough.
Form into flat disks, pricking several small holes with fork or fingers to prevent bubbling of bread. Fry in deep fryer to desired golden brown.
Makes 6 to 8 (6-inch) disks.
