Mom'S Light Biscuits(19Th Century - Mary Lillian Evelyn Rainier Thomas, 1870-1945) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. lard
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. lukewarm water
    1 pkg. yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
    flour for stiff dough
Preparation
    I make this as it calls for.
    In a large bowl mix lard, sugar, salt and warm water.
    Add to this the yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
    Add enough flour to make stiff dough and knead well.
    Keep in cool place.
    Pinch off when needed.
    Let raise until double in size.
