French Breakfast Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. milk
    melted butter
    cinnamon sugar
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly.
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together; stir into shortening mixture alternately with milk.
    Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
    Roll immediately in melted butter, then in cinnamon sugar.
    Makes 12.
