Old Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
4 Tbsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. milk

Preparation

Sift the dry ingredients together and rub well together with the butter, then add the egg, well beaten, then the milk and work lightly, just enough to make a smooth dough.
Roll out lightly. Place in a deep layer cake tin that has been greased and bake in 375\u00b0 oven.
