Cheese Straws From Alabama - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. sharp cheese
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 lb. butter
    pecans
    paprika
Preparation
    Grate cheese and mix with flour, salt, pepper and baking powder.
    Let butter soften and work into the mixture with your fingers.
    Shoot through a pastry gun or make into small balls and press them very flat with a fork or roll out to about 1/4-inch and cut with a small biscuit cutter.
    Optional:
    Top with a pecan. Bake at 300\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for about 10 to 15 minutes, but be sure they are baked through.
    Sprinkle with paprika.
